The work plan of GENERA is structured in six work packages with distinct tasks. Work package 1 summarizes all project management tasks. Work package 2 deals with deriving the status in gender equality in the research performing organisations (RPOs) and research funding organisations (RFOs). The monitoring and evaluation tasks associated with the implementation activities are defined in work package 3, work package 4 describes the customization of Gender Equality Plans (GEPs) and their implementation. The networking tasks of the consortium and the preparation of the long-term activities beyond the lifetime of the project are summarized in work package 5. Finally, work package 6 defines the outreach and valorization tasks in GENERA. The workpackages were preseted by the WP leaders at the GENERA kick off meeting on the 17th September. Download all their presentations and the presentations from the day here.

WP1 - Overall Management of GENERA

  • Consortium Management

WP2 - Status of research intensity advancing Gender Equality Plans (GEPs) activities in Europe’s research performing organisation (RPOs) and research funding organisations (RFOs)

  • Determine the present status of activities in participating countries oriented to promoting gender equality, and Gender Equality Plans (GEPs) in particular, in research focused cultural environments
  • Identify successful approaches and innovative ideas for gender equality measures in physics oriented research fields and cultural environments to make them more gender neutral

WP3 - Monitoring and Evaluation

  • Define indicators allowing to measure the effect of activities towards gender equality
  • Accompany the implementation activities of GENERA by an impartially monitoring and evaluation
  • Develop a classification scheme to map gender equality conditions in research performing organisations and research funding organisations

WP4 - Customized GEPs and their implementation in physics

  • Develop new features for Gender Equality Plans (GEPs) tailored for the needs of research environments in physics with the potential of application in other research fields
  • Define a roadmap for implementing customized Gender Equality Plans (GEPs) in physics incl. transfer to the other research fields Supporting research performing organisations (RPOs) and research funding organisations (RFOs) in implementing their individual Gender Equality Plans (GEPs) in a science context
  • Gender related measures supporting mobility in the ERA

WP5 - Forming an alliance addressing gender in research

  • Foster the networking between research funding organisations (RFOs) and research performing organisations (RPOs) on gender issues nationally and internationally
  • Implement a sustainable long-term monitoring and impact evaluation

WP6 - Dissemination & valorisation

  • Expand ERA systemic capacity for implementing EU gender equality goals by transferring knowledge and lessons to the research performing organisations (RPOs) and research funding organisations (RFOs) who are members of Science Europe and EURAXESS
  • Improve gender equality policy commitment in ERA by transferring knowledge to key committees at the European Parliament, i.e. STOA, ITRE, FEMM and EPRS
  • Promote systematic deployment of Gender Equality Plans in ERA through training opportunities targeting research performing organisation (RPOs), research funding organisation (RFOs) and Science Ministries in EU member states
  • Improve communication of gender equality issues in physics-related sectors by promoting welldefined and shared understanding of the benefits of addressing these issues at organisational level, targeting genSET stakeholder network, genPORT portal, Gender Summit community, LERU, and EUA.
  • Raise public awareness of the GENERA objectives and activities, in particular Gender-in-Physics days, through systematic interactions with relevant media and publicity channels, website, newsletter and social media channels Promote the use of open-access repository of research by submitting reports through this channel
